Three high school students arrested on suspicion of killing pond swans for food New York State
米ニューヨーク州シラキュース郊外で、町の人気者だった白鳥を殺して肉を食用にし、この白鳥から生まれたひな４羽を連れ去ったとして、１０代の３人組が逮捕されました
A trio of teenagers have been arrested outside Syracuse, New York, for allegedly killing the city’s favorite swan for meat and kidnapping the swan’s four chicks.
３人は１６～１８歳で、同じ高校に通う生徒です
The three are aged 16-18 and attend the same high school.
Charges include serious theft, vandalism, conspiracy and trespassing.
地元警察の責任者が５月３１日の記者会見で語ったところによると、２９日に池から雌の白鳥「フェイ」と生後数カ月のひな４羽がいなくなったという通報がありました
A local police chief said at a press conference on May 31 that a female swan ”Fei” and four several-month-old chicks had disappeared from the pond on the 29th.

Swan hunting is prohibited in New York State
The town has been home to swans since 1905, cared for and fed by local authorities.
Security cameras are expected to be installed in the pond in the future.
