Wakayama Prefecture Begins Making Umeshu with Freshly Picked Plums

On the 6th, a company in Kainan City began making plum wine, umeshu.
We use Nanko Ume, which is grown in large numbers in Wakayama Prefecture.
まず、とったばかりの南高梅8.5tぐらいを水で洗いました
First, I washed about 8.5 tons of freshly picked Nanko Ume with water.
Then I put it in a tank with a height of 4.2m and a diameter of 2.6m containing alcohol and sugar.
The plum wine that I started making on the 6th is the first liquor made with plums this year.
We plan to put it in the store in November and sell it in foreign countries such as Taiwan.
A company employee said, ”This year’s plums are big and beautiful, and the plum ingredients are strong.
