Destroyed dam in southern Ukraine submerges zoo NGO ”Only swans and ducks escaped”

A nearby zoo was submerged due to the destruction of the reservoir dam at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in southern Ukraine.
NGO says ’only swans and ducks were able to escape’
ウクライナのNGO「UAnimals」は6日、ウクライナ南部のカホフカ水力発電所の貯水ダムが破壊されたことにより、ドニプロ川沿いある動物園が完全に水没したと発表しました
The Ukrainian NGO ”UAnimals” announced on the 6th that the zoo along the Dnipro River was completely submerged due to the destruction of the reservoir dam at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in southern Ukraine.
ほとんどの動物が避難できずに水にのまれ、「白鳥とアヒルだけが脱出できた」としています
Most of the animals were unable to evacuate and were swallowed by the water, and ”only swans and ducks were able to escape.”
UAnimalsに対して関係者は、「私たちは動物園を維持するために最善をつくしましたが、動物園はもう存在しない」と話したということです
A source told UAnimals, ”We did our best to keep the zoo, but the zoo no longer exists.”
