Manufacture of ”household gas” by reusing CO2 to decarbonize
脱炭素化を実現するため発電所などで排出するCO2を再利用して家庭で使える「ガス」を作るメタネーション施設が初めて公開されました
For the first time, a methanation facility that reuses CO2 emitted from power plants to create ”gas” that can be used at home in order to realize decarbonization has been released.
At the Methanation facility in Yokohama released by Tokyo Gas, an experiment is being conducted to synthesize methane gas that can be used at home by synthesizing ”CO2” and ”hydrogen”.
Since CO2 is used as a raw material, CO2 emitted from thermal power plants can be recovered and reused.
Aiming for practical use in 2030, it is estimated that CO2 emissions can be reduced by 210 tons with this facility alone if it operates.
These technologies are being developed to realize decarbonization, along with ”CCUS” that traps carbon dioxide in the ground.
