Governor Tamaki of Okinawa Prefecture attended the United Nations conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
On the 19th, Japanese time, Governor Tamaki said, ``Okinawa Prefecture is home to American military bases.
I want the people of the world to know that there is a fear that peace will be destroyed.”
The Japanese government is in the process of moving the U.S. military’s Futenma base to Henoko, Nago City.
Regarding this construction, Governor Tamaki said, ``In 2019, there was a vote to ask the people of Okinawa Prefecture their opinions.
Despite many opposing opinions, the government is burying precious oceans and building new bases.”
