The theme of the movie ”Song of the South” has been criticized for many years for misleading black history, and there was a petition to change the theme.
In addition, water in a bottle was put up for auction as ”Water from Splash Mountain”, and the starting bid was set at $5,000 = about 650,000 yen.
”Splash Mountain” is scheduled to reopen next year with a different theme.
Disneyland in California is also expected to close at a later date, but no plans have been announced for Tokyo Disneyland.
