Samsung Quarterly Earnings, Operating Profit Down 69% Due to Falling Demand
韓国の電機大手サムスンが３１日に発表した昨年１０～１２月期決算は、営業利益が前年同期比６９％減に落ち込みました
South Korean electronics giant Samsung announced on the 31st of October-December last year that operating income fell by 69% year-on-year.
Operating income for the October-December quarter was 4.3 trillion won (approximately 450 billion yen), the lowest level since the July-September quarter of 2014 when the smartphone business was sluggish.
Sales also decreased by 8% year-on-year to 70.5 trillion won.
It is said that the global economic stagnation caused demand to shrink and the business environment to deteriorate.
Samsung predicted poor performance ahead of its financial results this month
On the other hand, sales for the full year of 2022 were 302.2 trillion won, surpassing the previous year’s 279.6 trillion won and reaching a record high.
